Mr. Ulfat Karim is the Managing Director of Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC, bringing dynamic leadership, strategic vision, and a strong commitment to operational excellence. A forward-thinking and results-driven entrepreneur, he represents a new generation of corporate leadership focused on innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Mr. Karim began his professional journey with Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC, one of Bangladesh’s leading pharmaceutical companies, where he served as Executive Director from 9 August 2021 to 9 August 2023. In recognition of his exceptional performance, strategic insight, and leadership capabilities, he was appointed Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective 10 August 2023. His successful tenure as COO culminated in his appointment as Managing Director, reflecting the Board’s confidence in his ability to steer the company toward long-term success.

As COO, Mr. Karim played a pivotal role in transforming Beacon’s operational landscape. He spearheaded comprehensive cost-control initiatives across production, supply chain, and procurement functions, resulting in a significant reduction in operating costs while maintaining stringent quality standards and full compliance with international regulatory requirements. His focus on lean operations and data-driven decision-making strengthened financial discipline and substantially increased net profit after tax.

Under his leadership, Beacon Pharmaceuticals achieved consistent double-digit year-on-year revenue growth through strategic product diversification, expansion into new export markets, and the modernization of marketing and commercial strategies. Professor ABM Faroque has joined Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC as an Independent Director in 2024. Professor ABM Faroque is an accredited and acknowledged researcher in the field of pharmaceutical technology and he has both national & international publications in the field of Pharmaceutical Industry. Currently, he is also serving as a Dean, School of Science and Engineering, Southeast University.

Professor ABM Faroque has a wide variety of knowledge in the Pharmaceutical Technology for more than 45 years of service in different position at Dhaka University and in different national & internal committee of the Government of Bangladesh. He was the Dean & Chairman of both Dept. of Pharmaceutical Technology & Dept of Pharmacy and also the Director of Biomedical Research Centre, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka.

He has been nominated and assigned in different government body and associated with international organization over his long period of service. He was Convener, National Drug Policy Formulation Sub-Committee, Directorate General of Drug Administration, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh and Team Leader, Specialist Team for the inspection of all Pharmaceutical Companies of Bangladesh. He was Member, Herbal National Formulary Committee, WHO and Board of Unani & Ayurvedic Systems of Medicines, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh and Resource Person, Bangladesh Arsenic Mitigation & Safe Water Supplies Program, Directorate of Public Health Engineering, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Government of Bangladesh.

He was also the member, Unani and Ayurvedic National Formulary Committee, WHO and Board of Unani & Ayurvedic Systems of Medicines, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh,1987-2000 and Member, National consultative committee on code of Marketing of Breast-Milk substitutes, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. He was the dignitary resource person for UNICEF and WHO on different projects like Program on Control of lodine Deficiency Disorders in Bangladesh, universal lodization of salt, in Policy paper for children, Joint Government and UNICEF Action Group (JGUAG), prevention of Vitamin A and lodine Deficiencies in Bangladesh, TRIPS and Access to medicines in the least-Developed countries and WHO Essential Drug Program.

He has participated in many trainings and attendant a lot of seminars internationally. In his new role, Professor ABM Faroque will lead our efforts in enhancing excellence in pharmaceuticals industry internationally.

Mr. Rezanur Chowdhury has been qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Bangladesh in the year 1983. He has served in different companies in home and abroad, including British-American Tobacco Co. Ltd., Bangladesh and Anchor Electronics Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia.

Mr. Chowdhury has a wide variety of knowledge in the Accounting and Finance Sector for around 43 years of service in different position and in different companies. He has participated in many trainings and attendant a lot of seminars internationally.

Before joining Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC he was engaged in Finance & Tax consultancy with reputation.

With more than 15 years of experience in statutory audit, bookkeeping, tax compliance, statutory reporting and payroll. In his role as engagement leader, he constantly overseas the client operations and ensures timely reporting & statutory compliances. While ensuring the team is up to date with all the statutory changes, he coaches / trains the team on an ongoing basis to enable quality deliverables to the client.

Arif led Accounting Compliances & Reporting (ACR) and Business Consulting service line in EY Bangladesh. His service line mainly focuses on accounting services including FS preparation, tax provision & deferred tax calculation in accordance with IFRS and Bangladesh law, Internal audit outscored and co-sourced services which includes effective SOP design and implementations. Also experienced in statutory audit services.

Arif has extensive experience in consulting on development of accounting policies and procedures closely adjusted to IFRS; conversion of the local GAAP and applicable laws.

Professor Dr. Shamem Ara Mili has joined Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC as an Independent Director in 2025. She is working as a Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Comilla University, Bangladesh as well. She has also served as the Director of MBA (Evening) Program in the same Department. Dr. Mili has achieved PhD Degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, with a focus on corporate governance, human capital management disclosure, firm value, and financial reporting timeliness of the listed companies in Bangladesh. She has also achieved an MPhil Degree from Islamic University, Bangladesh, with a focus on corporate social performance of the listed pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh.

Dr. Mili has completed MBA and BBA (Hon’s) from the Department of Accounting and Information Systems of Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. She has achieved Taposhi Rabeya Hall Gold Medal for outstanding academic achievement in BBA (Hon’s). Dr. Mili has participated in several international conferences, and published a number of papers in internationally reputed Journals. She has been committed to making a bridge between academic knowledge and corporate practices, as well as committed to contributing to corporate governance, ESG, human capital management and business innovation practices in the corporate sectors of Bangladesh.

Md. Jalal Uddin is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh and Master of Business Administration. He joined Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC in April 2022 having more than 14 years of experiences in reputed corporates and professional services firm. Prior to joining Beacon Pharma, he played the role of head of financial process, control, ethics, and integrity in Robi Axiata Limited.

He possesses diversified skills and experience in financial reporting, treasury management, cost & budgetary control, tax & VAT, risk management, financial compliance, auditing, and assurance services. He is highly qualified and experienced in designing policies, procedures, limits of authority and an expert in process simplification, automation, and digitalization for large and complex operations.

He leads the Rise with SAP S/4 implementation project in Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC and Beacon Cephalosporin Ltd.

Mr. Md. Sahabuddin FCS serves as the Company Secretary of Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC, bringing with him a wealth of experience in corporate governance, regulatory affairs, and capital market operations. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) and holds both MBA and BBA degrees from the University of Dhaka, along with an LL.B. degree from the National University of Bangladesh.

 Before joining Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC, Mr. Sahabuddin held the position of Company Secretary at Marico Bangladesh Limited, where he made notable contributions in strengthening corporate governance and compliance structures. Over his distinguished career, he has also served in key leadership roles at A. K. Khan & Company Limited, Urmi Group, Walton Group, and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), where he played an instrumental role in advancing organizational governance and compliance excellence.

In his current role at Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC, Mr. Sahabuddin provides strategic leadership in ensuring transparency, fostering robust corporate governance practices, and maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and regulatory compliance across all levels of the organization. Miss Rahamat Ara Huda FCA, FCMA is an accounting professional having more than 15 years’ experience in the field of accounts & finance, strategic planning &budgeting, project & product feasibility analysis, cost management, budget and polices, cost-volume profit analysis, product pricing, financial accounting Plans, fund management, financial operation management, capital budgeting, TAX and VAT management, financial report preparation, financial & other regulatory reporting, internal audit and risk based auditing management. Miss Rahamat Ara Huda FCA, FCMA is playing as Head of Internal Audit at Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC. As a Chartered Accountant & Cost and Management Accountant she has diversified working experiences in senior leadership position of different organizations.

Miss Rahamat Ara Huda FCA, FCMA has started her career at Anwar Group of Industries. Later she joined Maheen Dizayn Etiket (BD.) Limited and Maheen Label Tex Limited (sister concern of Impress group). Miss Rahamat Ara Huda FCA, FCMA worked Maheen Dizayn Etiket (BD.) Limited and Maheen Label Tex Limited for more than seven years as Departmental Head of Internal Audit, Head of Accounts & Finance and General Manager (Accounts & Finance). Before joined Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC she worked at Walton Hi- Tech Industries PLC as Deputy & Acting Head of Internal Audit & Compliance. She has completed CA articleship from UHY Syful Shamsul Alam & Co. one of leading Chartered accounting firm in Bangladesh. Miss Rahamat Ara Huda FCA, FCMA is a member of Cost Audit Standard Committee of ICMAB for the year 2025.
