Amipride
Amisulpride is a selective dopamine D2/D3 receptor antagonist belonging to the therapeutic class of atypical antipsychotics. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic schizophrenia, effectively improving both positive symptoms (delusions, hallucinations) and negative symptoms (apathy, social withdrawal), including cases with predominant negative symptoms.
It demonstrates strong efficacy against negative symptoms with a low risk of extrapyramidal side effects due to its preferential action in the limbic system, making it better tolerated than many conventional antipsychotics.
